new beginnings and witchcraft
Hello dear reader,
Before starting, I would like it if you could exonerate me from any sorts of judgement because this is something that I have never done before. Forget putting myself out there, I have not even ever written something for myself, because I used to think that I couldn’t write and maybe, I can’t. But as daunting as this is for me, sending out my thoughts like this in the form of newsletters, is the closest I have come towards absolute liberation. I am definitely going to acknowledge the role that one of my friends, Shashank, has played in me starting this personal project. Shashank motivated me to work as a Content Writer and it was while working that I realized I wanted to write for myself, too. So, thank you, Shashank. I needed the push that you unknowingly managed to give me.
By now, reader, you know I have never written before, this is just the kind of impulsive thing that I keep doing. Starting something out of momentous energy and then maybe continuing doing it, maybe not. Of all my endeavors, I hope that at least this one continues to go on.
Speaking of endeavors, I remember it was exactly a year ago when I decided that I was going to learn everything that I wanted to, to my heart’s desire. The world had freshly gone into a total lockdown by virtue of the corona virus and we had all the time on our hands. I decided to utilize mine by reviving my interest in reading books and by learning to practice witchcraft.
Now, I know the word “witchcraft” has a very negative connotation and has a lot of unpleasantness attached to it. But if you read up on it, witches are people who are deeply connected with the universe, celestial bodies and themselves. They can commune with Mother Nature and think of her with great regard. Witchcraft is simply integrating positivity in everyday life routines. When you cook for someone you love with an intention of feeding them with love and care, when you spice the food you’re cooking to heal your beloved and to provide them with immunity, you’re performing witchcraft. Contrary to popular belief, it is a very positive practice. Real close to spirituality.
As I started reading up about it, I learnt how much energy the moon holds, how much healing powers spices and fruits and herbs and vegetables have, how important it is to connect with your higher self and how you can integrate and use these energies in the activities that you’re doing and see a significant improvement in your life. In future letters, I will maybe tell you how practicing witchcraft has shaped me into a much positive person than I was before.
I familiarized myself with the phases of the moon and what each phase means. A moon on the wane meant you could manifest things that you didn’t want in your life anymore and on a waxing moon, you could manifest growth. I carefully planned to start writing this on the evening of a new moon, so that I can keep my intention and try hard to continue doing this for a long time to come.
The title ‘Big Moon Energy’ comes from the deep connection I have established with the moon over the period of lockdown. I have meditated in the moon light and charged my water with its energy to drink it and bathe in it. I have manifested, under the moon, a lot of things, that I have graciously received. As ridiculous as it may sound to you, I don’t think its sheer co incidence. I believe in the power that the moon holds. By keeping ‘Big Moon Energy’ as the title of my newsletter, I want to integrate moon magic in my letters and send you all lunar love and energy every time I send these to your inbox.
Also, here’s a cute little song for you, I hope you enjoy it!
Love and warmth,
